Mario Friedländer [Fotógrafo Brasileiro]

Mario Friedländer nasceu a 28 de Outubro de 1960.

É fotógrafo profissional dedicando seu trabalho a documentação da Natureza, Povos Tradicionais, Arqueologia, Espeleologia e Ecoturismo.

Radicado em Mato Grosso desde 1981, envolveu-se em diversos projetos, principalmente em defesa das Paisagens Naturais e das Culturas Populares.

Nos últimos anos tem se dedicado a trabalhos em regiões Quilombolas em Mato Grosso e também na região de fronteira entre Brasil e Bolívia. Atualmente, Mario coordena o Projeto Paralelo 15, de expedições pelo território Afroboliviano.

Em 2001, Friedlander foi o primeiro fotógrafo a realizar um trabalho sobre o Patrimônio Imaterial em Mato Grosso para o IPHAN, em que registrou a Celebração da Festança de Vila Bela da Santíssima Trindade. Além disso, o fotógrafo já desenvolveu e participou de outros projetos culturais e científicos.

Atualmente está vivendo entre a Chapada de Guimarães e Cuiabá no Mato Grosso e edita a Revista Afromundo.

Participa de várias iniciativas pela Restauração e Conservação de Ambientes Naturais e Promove Expedições para Pesquisa, Documentação e Ecoturismo.

Mario Friedlander is a photographer who has illustrated Mato Grosso with beautiful, expressive images, lives in here since the early 1980s.
He devoted himself to know and document the nature and its elements, people and customs and thus gathered, in a collection of precious images the tangible and intangible heritage of life of people of Mato Grosso.

Through his images, shows fragments of the intangible cultural heritage of Mato Grosso, its people and their beliefs, cultural events in Cuiaba, Pocone, Livramento, Chapada dos Guimarães, Vila Bela and many other places like Mato Grosso Park of the Xingu and villages of the Bororo people.

In recent years has been dedicated to Quilombola region of Mato Grosso and the border with Bolivia, where he developed and participated and recorded many cultural projects and scientific expeditions and surveys.
He developed the first work on the Intangible Heritage of Mato Grosso, for IPHAN (2001) describing the celebration of Vila Bela da Santíssima Trindade.

He also develops work in digital video, and filmed about 200 hours on various cultural events in many regions of Mato Grosso.
For nearly two decades actively participated in the Environmental Movement of Mato Grosso, and still maintains a private forest reserve in the Upper Valley in Jamacia Chapada dos Guimaraes, where he develops eco tourism work through the "Quilombo do Alemão."

You could say that Mario Friedlander specializes in documentation of Nature, Rock Art, Archaeology, Speleology and Traditional Peoples.
