If Elisabetta Rogai were a psychologist, she would belong to the Gestalt School. But she is a painter, well-known and appreciated in Tuscany, in the rest of Italy and even beyond the national border. You only have to take a look at her works and you immediately feel, on the surface of your eyes and your skin, diverse but complementary feelings: you get lost in her wise use of color and of chromatic scales, yet you get lost there with serenity, with filial abandonment; you are fascinated by the delicate lines of her female characters, but you perceive the tension of its movement and its existence, its visual presence; you enjoy the unity of every painting, without losing the taste for details, though. Elisabetta Rogai, to put it with the Gestalt psychology, perfectly succeeds in harmonizing subject and background, dialectically synthesizing in every work her expressive power with the liberty of the viewer.
For several years now Elisabetta has been offering this accomplice relationship to her admirers, this exchange of sensibility, this opening to communication through the sensory channels of painting. The prestigious contexts of her exhibitions - from the Croisette of Cannes (France) to the Palagio di Parte Guelfa in Florence, from the Art Gallery Le Lac of Lugano (Switzerland) to the Cloister of Sant'Agostino of Pietrasanta, from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the Gran Caffè "Quadri" of Venice - do not prevent even to the most naive beginner, to find in every painting a piece of her intimacy.
And if to the communicative incisiveness of the mind of Elizabeth we add her skills in the use of surfaces, tools and different techniques we get an idea of the universality of the language of this artist: the canvas is next to the linen, oil and pigments are accompanied by lime and clays, which give a plastic attitude to her touches; cardboard and paper are sometimes inserted to create further ripples and graphic vibrations, and even the "jeans" has become an innovative support for her hand. A similar versatility explains why Elisabetta is not new to forays in collateral initiatives to art tout court: for instance, her picture "Astrid"" has served as label for the official wine of the Italian semester of presidency of the European Union.
Elisabetta Rogai is a woman soaked with femininity - a complex and complete, round, polysemic femininity, that she pours again and again in every brushstroke of hers, in every stylistic choice of hers. Elisabetta is mother and wife, sister and friend, dream of flesh and colour.
